Youth Programs
Our energetic and passionate Youth Programs department works with community members to help with our mission to promote self-efficacy by teaching prevention skills to youth who are at risk for substance misuse.
Evidence Based Substance Misuse Prevention Curriculum
Our school curriculum teaches participants resiliency skills -intended to help prevent youth from making the decision to use alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. We provide prevention education presentations and host annual community events to bring awareness to the community and provide a safe and healthy alternative.

Community Coalition
Our community coalition addresses the use of alcohol, tobacco, and prescription drugs in Nueces, Kleberg and Jim Wells Counties to encourage community mobilization to implement evidence-based environmental strategies with the primary focus on changing polices and social norms in communities to prevent and reduce substance misuse.
Our Community Coalition involves the following sectors: youth, young adults, parents, business communities, media, schools, youth serving organizations, law enforcement agencies, faith-based organizations, civic/volunteer groups, healthcare professionals, state and local government agencies with expertise in the field of substance misuse, recovery communities, Education Service Center (ESC), Local Mental Health Authorities (LMHAs), and other organizations involved in reducing substance misuse. Monthly meetings are held at the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation, usually on the last Wednesday of the month and open to the community.
We are available for prevention education presentations discussing alcohol, vaping, tobacco, and prescription drugs. We also attend community events to promote awareness regarding the health consequences of substance use and abuse.
